Thank you for your interest in the activities (hereinafter referred to as "Tours") offered by Yakushima TAXI (hereinafter referred to as "we," "us," or "our").
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants, we have established the following Terms and Conditions. By completing your booking application, you are deemed to have agreed to all terms and conditions set forth herein.
Article 1: Establishment of Contract
A booking contract is established when we send a confirmation notice in response to a customer's booking application, and the specified charter fee and/or tour fee payment (or confirmation of payment) is completed.
Article 2: What's Not Included in the Price
Unless otherwise specified on the respective tour detail page, the tour price does not include the following fees. These must be paid by the customer on the day of the tour.
- Facility entrance fees, forest conservation/cooperation fees (e.g., Yakusugi Land, Shiratani Unsuikyo).
- Customer's personal lunch and beverage costs.
- Equipment rental fees (if applicable).
Article 3: Cancellation Policy (by Customer)
If you wish to cancel your booking, please contact us immediately.Except in cases where the cancellation is due to the cancellation of flights or ferries caused by typhoons or other severe weather, the following cancellation fees will apply based on the customer's request:
- Up to 4 days before the tour date: Free of charge
- 3 days prior to the tour date: 50% of the total booking fee
- 2 days prior to the tour date: 80% of the total booking fee
- 1 day prior (the day before) or on the day of the tour: 100% of the total booking fee
- No-show (cancellation without notice): 100% of the total booking fee
"Business days" are based on our company's operating days (e.g., weekdays, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays). Cancellation requests are officially accepted as of the date received during our business hours.Please note that guides and vehicles on Yakushima are limited. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in confirming your schedule before booking.
Article 4: Cancellation or Changes by Us (Due to Weather, etc.)
Yakushima's weather is highly unpredictable. To prioritize customer safety, our guides (or drivers) may decide to cancel the tour or significantly alter the itinerary due to weather (typhoons, warnings, heavy rain, high winds) or local conditions (road closures, landslides, etc.).
- Notification of Cancellation: We generally make the decision to cancel by the evening of the day before the tour or early on the morning of the tour, and we will notify you promptly.
- Fee for Cancellation (by Us): If we decide to cancel the tour before it begins, the tour fee will be fully refunded. No cancellation fee will be charged.
- Interruption After Start: Please understand that if the tour is interrupted or canceled after it has started due to sudden weather changes, a customer's health condition, or other safety reasons, the tour fee is generally non-refundable.
Article 5: Safety Requirements (Health & Equipment)
- Health Conditions: If you have any pre-existing medical conditions (heart disease, epilepsy, asthma, etc.), allergies, are pregnant, or have any other concerns about your physical fitness, you must declare this at the time of booking (or in advance). For your safety, we may not be able to accept your booking or may require a medical certificate from a doctor.
- Equipment: Proper equipment (trekking shoes, full-body rainwear (top and bottom), warm layers, backpack, etc.) is mandatory for forest tours (especially trekking). If your equipment is deemed significantly inadequate for safe participation, we may refuse your participation on the day of the tour (in this case, it will be treated as a same-day cancellation by the customer).
Article 6: Safety and Liability Disclaimer
- During the tour, you must follow the instructions of the guide (or driver) at all times to ensure safety. We are not liable for any accidents, injuries, or damages caused to other participants resulting from a failure to follow the guide's instructions.
- Please participate with a full understanding that tours in a natural environment involve inherent risks, including falls, falling rocks, severe weather, and encounters with wildlife.
- We strongly recommend that all participants purchase domestic travel insurance to cover unforeseen accidents or injuries.
Article 7: Handling of Personal Information
Personal information received at the time of booking will be managed appropriately in accordance with our Privacy Policy and used only for the execution of the tour, emergency contact, and related customer support.
